AKA... a 10 things about me list... that I would never tell you under duress







1.) When I was young I had a lot of self confidence, it was destroyed by an innocent comment about my singing. I have spent most of the last 3 years (my bonus rounds) pretending to have re-aquired it… but there are moments when my ego still hurts.

2.) I am a Baha’i. I have spent much of my life studying every religion I can find, and find that every philosophy I have studied thus far confirms my own belief or sheds new awareness and better understanding of it.

3.) The last several girls I have dated have been significantly younger than me… I did not date when I was that age, and I find the experience enlightening; although extreamly disheartening in their fatalism towards relationships.

4.) I believe in Agape love. It does not matter the distance between two people or objects there is always love. It is like gravity and has the same definition. Love does not hurt… having an ego does. In the light of Love, the truth is revealed.” Which is to say… the person who you feel you are when you feel loved… IS who you are… who you think you are at other times is a lie.

5.) I have an ego that regularely gets bludgeoned back into it’s hole. This is usually preceeded by the appearance of arrogance and misplaced self worth… and the bludgeoning stick is called depression.

6.) My roommate is my crazy aunt. She is a psychic, a red-headed-stepchild, an paranoid of the worst possible scenario. She is funny as hell in small doses; but when exposed to so much off the wall behavior without respite… it begins to feel like sleeping in a room with a dripping faucet during the dog days of summer.

7.) I made money on the sale of the house I purchased from my mother and bought the townhouse I currently live in. I also gave my foster sister enough cash to qualify to buy her own townhouse. Both properties have more than doubled in value in the last 2 years, and I would feel fortunate if I were not constantly plagued by the lawyers that own my mortgage. I have shelled out (approx) 10,000 in legal fees in the last 1 ½ years.

8.) There are two kinds of cooks; those who love to cook; and those who cook for love; I am of the later sort… however I find myself frequently cooking for a living. I believe love is a tangible ingredient in food; which explains why some people say that their mothers are great cooks.

9.) My mother IS a great cook. She is even better now than when she last cooked for me… and regularily has billionaires (and occasionally royalty) compliment her cooking and tip her with diamond jewelry. She currently lives in the carribean and her best selling ice cream is chocolate chilli. She also makes crafts from native materials including soap (completely from scratch including making the lye from coconut husks) and jewelry. She also teaches these authentic local crafts to the local kids. My mother is imperfect and perfect… she is my solace and my guide and the resonance to which I tune my spirits strings when I loose faith in myself.

10.) I believe in an afterlife. I believe in it so strongly that it flavours every philosophy I have. (Ie. if god created aliens and they go to the same afterlife… perhaps my “soulmate” is an alien… or perhaps it is male… or perhaps it is a neandrathal… whichever… I believe in complete equality of the sexes, and all humanity… It is inconceivable for me to concider otherwise.) This affects greatly my view on everything from marriage (which is eternal) to my cavalier view of death ( I cry with joy at funerals.)

11.) Heh heh… just one more! I believe in laws. Spiritual laws and Physical Laws. Bylaws are evedence of a societies moral decay.
